I'm not here to expertly analyze the film and its themes, but after taking a look at many of what counts as reviews for this, I simply have something to say: it's very obvious this movie is being review bombed by different, shall we say, right-wing groups.
Is this movie amazing? No, but it is pretty entertaining, and it goes through a lot of great lengths to show a messed up situation. It gets a little bit close to being cringe near the end, but you realise this is all through the eyes of a child.
Is this movie meant to be a deep tour de force character study? Also no. There's very clear moments where you're meant to get a chuckle, despite the gore. Such as... well, lets talk about jadavix.
One of the top reviews is by someone named jadavix, and it's clear they never watched the movie in full, or even in particular detail, considering they lied about a part of the movie, where the villain's eye is dangling out of their eyesocket and their henchman has trouble cutting it off.
The hench wasn't using a butcher's knife, they were using safety scissors. The villain is the one who ends up using a knife to slice it off.

Characters are dull (Kevin James should better stick to comedy) there are some plot holes, a couple of things are never explained and it's an implausible story.
However, the movie serves its purpose. It's the good and old cat and mouse chase, full of gore (but less than I expected) some action, people dying all around and an unbeatble main antihero. The movie never takes itself seriously, and for me that works.
Forget plausability, you can not demand it here.
Instead, just watch it and chill out.
